What about PTFE tubes? They are available with different wall thickness and diameters. You got one mounted to your Extruder already. So why not a second one?

Good Idea! My only concern is the resistance that would be caused by 4-6mm ID tubes on the print head. Routing these tubes might required extra space to respect minimum bending radius. But worth investigating, since they are light and rigid.

I quickly checked eBay.
You get 5x6mm PTFE tube super cheap.
That is 0.5mm wall thickness. This should provide quite some additional flex desbied the higher diameter compared to the 2x4mm tubes we use for the filament.

I’m using silicone tubing made for the Aquarium air pumps. No idea what is the Inner diameter.

I use a PTFE tube with similar dimensions as Mike did and they work with the pump

Why don´t you give PTFE tubes a shot? Take it with M6 couplers and you are good to go, or is there something i have overseen?

@Olivier: Just use 6mm PTFE tubing with thin wall, maybe 0.5mm. We use this in our quality control scanner frames in industrial paper manufacturing process, they run in a similar cable-track, just much larger of course, and it works wonders.

You’re perhaps overthinking the additional drag part a bit, it won’t have much impact on the nema 17’s, far less so on the ClearPaths. Just experiment with it, it is cheap enough ;)
