I'd like to have A/B motors hidden. What do you think about adding external frame and mounting 2mm steel sheet panels to that?
Re: HevORT Heavy Duty - HD9mm and HD12
Hello,
it is quite hard to find GT2 idlers with the specification of E3D like shown in BOM. So I deccided to modify all parts of the HD Gantry to fit GT2 Idler with an outer diameter of 18mm. So it is quite easy to get theese idlers at Amazon.
If you are interested i will share the CAD files. Unfortunately i work with solidworks. So I can profide any format you like but not Fusion360 nativ. Shall I upload them to Thingiverse?

Definitely interested!
Wanna (most likely) Upgrade my 3030-BLV Cube and I had already redesigned the BLV parts For the "large" idlers..would be great to have the re-adjustet parts ready For Print
But If you can send some inventor compatible parts (step maybe?) Is also Most appreciated

i am printing the 12 version now and customize to fit mgh20 rail guides.. any tips??
Re: HevORT Heavy Duty - HD9mm and HD12
building it right now. next big thing i am struggling with a bit.. i have over build the hotbed, weighs 20kg glass nichrome wire fire protection plates and a steel tray it is in.. wanting to move it with 3x nema 17 on a tr12 spindle using igus nuts.. calculator says it can lift 200N with only 0.5nm of force..
trying it out with worm drives so the bed doesn't come down when power off..
and look at www.almition.nl for cheap but very very good lineair rail.. i bought size 20 but size 7 or 9 was more then adequate!! comes with documentation and i have seen tests they do to the systems.. hanging a metal beam onto a block and adding 100 kg onto it and then move it for 3 weeks and no deflection!!

Re: HevORT Heavy Duty - HD9mm and HD12
my budget now has risen to €7000, over a period of 2 years..
had some support from people in the parts department
looking for a place to mill some aluminium or steel parts for motor mounts
plastic and standard 3mm steel bends due to the gantry weight 5kg..
biggest costs are the motors and driver and linear rails..could go smaller but this is super rigid.. could use only one rail for y if i wanted! and my x rail has no support just the rail mounted to the block rail is 17.4x 20mm stainless steel grounded rail h9 accuracy.
mainboard is a gtr-m5 with a zotac pc connected via uart to the gtr
nowhere to buy a rb-pi for decent money
any thoughts on a good pi alternative costs - €100
