Print calibration

Post by Steps21 »

Hello all,

I am still in the process of printing the HEVORT parts.
However I'm having trouble calibrating my cartesian bed slinger. (tevo flash with 0.9 motors)

The outer shell of the prints are very correct, however the holes are always much too small. Going with even lower flow is not possible.
As you can see in the picture the left print is flow 100, the right 84 and still the hole is 0.8mm too small? ABS plus.
The steps are at default values and outer shell measures exactly right... changing steps changes the outer dimensions, changing flow even lower will result in terrible prints..
What can I do?
Or is it "good enough" for most parts. Since its very hard to fit the magnets in the wobble wings...
My other printer, which I accidentally destroyed, did not have this issue.

thanks in advance,
Steven

This is not unusual, and the flow is not how you fix it. The slicer will have an adjustment for hole size, and the method will vary by slicer. thru trial and error you can the holes to show up in the correct size.

I gave up on getting it right with Simplify3d because there is no separate hole adjustment.
Ideamaker and 0.08mm xy hole adjustment and everything fits snug :)
Thanks for the tip.
