No Blind Joint Screws on Frame BOM?

Post by ReggieW »

The Frame Hardware Map (https://a360.co/3dCjsfY) shows blind joints, but the Frame BOM (https://miragec79.github.io/HevORT/bom/ ... lecExt.htm) does not include any M8 screws. I'm thinking they got missed? Or, is there a different way to make blind joints other than tapping the ends?

There are no blind joints, so no M8 screws.

Hmm...is V4 the latest version of the Frame Hardware Mapping? If I explode the design, I see 28 Blind Joint Taps like these:

They are suggested blind screw locations iirc (can't remember where I read it on here somewhere). You would need to drill the perpendicular extrusions to fit an M8 bolt to pull it all together. They aren't a requirement.

This would however significantly increase the stiffness of the frame, especially in the locations where only the L joints are used. bit of a faff though. :)
