Re: Twin 415s

Spent some time this past weekend working on the builds. Seems to be a two steps forward one step back sort of build, as in there's progress but it's slow going. Managed to get motors and pulley mounts installed, loosely installed the z screws, and started on the bed frame assembly. Hoping to finish...

Twin 415s

After the obligatory parts gathering and parts printing phase, my buddy and I started building our 415x415x440 HevORTs. We got the majority of the frame build complete, and have started attaching some of the linear rails. 20210307_181756r.jpg One question we did run into was that it appeared as thou...

Hello from Minnesota

Hello all! I've been reading/lurking and even asking a few (mostly stupid) questions so far, but figured it was time for a actual introduction. I'm John. I live in Minnesota, and felt it was time to build a proper 3D printer. Currently living with a Prusa i3 Clone I built almost 5 years ago. It seem...

Re: List of available CAD Files

I found the trouble. The web viewer doesn't display all the object properties. When I opened the files in the full Fusion360 application, the part names were present.

Re: List of available CAD Files

Is there an easy way to determine screw size/length in the Fusion360 viewer? For example when I look at the XY Gantry, if I isolate one of the screws that holds the rail to the tnut in the frame I can click measure and try to carefully select the tip and base of the screw to determine it's length (I...

Re: Struggling to print good Y carriages

Found 'break support into chunks" under 'experimental'. That DOES help. Thanks!

Re: Struggling to print good Y carriages

I'm using the Ultimaker Cura slicer (V4.8). I don't recall seeing the break support into chunks setting. I will have to look for that! Thanks! I did eventually flip the carriage up on end and printed it in an easier orientation to deal with the support. They seem strong enough. Hopefully they at lea...

Re: Struggling to print good Y carriages

So I'm not terribly familiar with the Ultimaker software, so you'll have to forgive my slight ignorance here. I used to use Repetier Host utilizing the built in cura slicer there, but there were far fewer settings available. Based on the description given in Ultimaker, I think it's the Support Flow ...

Re: Struggling to print good Y carriages

I ran another print overnight with the support distance set to .2mm, and XY gap at 1.2mm I also tried enabling the tapered support option, but it just gave me more room on the sides to break chunks of the support away. The roof and floor of the supports are still a fused disaster once the middle is ...
